about the program

For residents of Trinidad: 
  • The program runs for 1 Academic year and consists of 3 Semesters

  • Class Days:

Class days are Mondays and Wednesdays if you register for the September intake 

Class days are Tuesdays and Thursdays if you register for the January intake 

  • Classes will be conducted using a blended learning approach; some classes will be held face-to-face at our College compound, some classes will be via Zoom and some will be done asynchronously. 

  • Classes begin at 5:30pm

  • Cost:

Tuition is $20,000.00 TTD for the year

It is a GATE approved program meaning GATE will pay for you if

1. you have not already completed a GATE program

2. you are a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago 

3. you are under 50 years of age

​

If you qualify for GATE funding, based on your household income, GATE will determine whether they would pay 100%, 75%, 50% or 25% of the tuition. If GATE does not pay 100%, you would be responsible for paying the remainder.

If you do not qualify for GATE funding, payment plans are available. 

Per semester you would be required to pay $6,666.67 TTD (There are 3 Semesters). You can either pay the entire semester fee at the beginning of each semester OR you can pay half of the semester fee ($3,333.33 TTD) at the beginning of the semester and the balance before Final exams. Failure to pay the fees will result in the student NOT being allowed to write the exams.

You are responsible for purchasing textbooks, a massage table, uniforms, oil and other supplies. The list of textbooks and supplies will be given to you when you pay the Registration fee and Incidental fee.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA:

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be accepted into the program: -

  1. Must be 18 years and over or upon assessment by entrance committee 

  2. Must be able to read, write and speak the English Language.

  3. Must be in good general health - no communicable diseases (You must obtain medical clearance from your doctor)

  4. Must possess a High School leaving certificate or Secondary or Other Certificates preferably with a science subject - 5 G.C.E or CSEC subjects and / or Advanced A’levels.

  5. All candidates must meet with the admissions committee for a personal interview to determine suitability of the applicant – maturity, passion for massage with other criteria to the committee.

  6. Applications must be approved by GATE funding otherwise students would be required to pay for themselves ($20,000.00 TTD for the entire year)

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Application forms must be submitted together with the following documents: -

  1. Application form with two hundred Dollars ($200)TTD or $35 USD Non Refundable  OR

 Late registration (TTD) $250.00 Non Refundable

  1. A Copy of High School certificates/diploma

  2. Two copies of a valid form of identification

  3. A description explaining why you want to pursue a career in Massage Therapy

  4. On a separate piece of paper please tell us more about yourself

  5. Two recommendations

  6. Two passport size pictures, one should be inserted in the space given below and the other submitted with this form, to be inserted on your Identification card.

  7. A certificate of good character

  8. Two copies of Registered Birth Certificate

  9. Complete Medical Form Below

  10. Incidental fee to be paid when registering $1225.00 TTD

  11. A Declaration to receive GATE funding (be discussed with the admissions officer)
